Samer Libdeh

Trainer and Co-Mentor

Samer Libdeh is a regional co-mentor in Jordan with the Online Activism Institute.  Samer is a Jordanian journalist and a researcher who focuses on democracy promotion in Jordan and the Arab world at-large. In 2006, he was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar to United States and a Visiting Fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.  A scholar at the American Political Science Association Congressional Fellowship Program, he worked as a Legislative Fellow on the International Relations Committee.

 Previously, as a Director of Interaction Forum for Development, Samer initiated a number of European-sponsored Arab-Israeli peace-building projects with a focus on peace-journalism and democracy education for young Jordanians, Palestinians and Israelis. In addition, he was a Foreign Desk Editor for Alaswaq Business Daily in Jordan.  His articles have appeared in number of Middle Eastern newspapers, including the Daily Star and Jordan Times.

He holds an MA degree in International Politics and Security Studies from Bradford University, UK, and a diploma in Civil Society and Public Policy, from Universidad de Castilla La Mancha, Toledo, Spain. Samer was an observer at the Women’s Campaign School at Yale University in the summer of 2008, where he learned best practices on women’s campaigning.   He speaks Arabic and English.
