Hello, I’m Nancy Bocskor, one of the advisors at CLIME, the Center for Liberty in the Middle East. I’ve been working to launch the self-taught and mentoring section of the Online Activism Institute for Women in the Middle East. In addition to helping select your mentors and programs, I am also available to provide one-on-one mentoring, through the power of Elluminate, to help further your political skills.
I like to tell people that I can help them win campaigns without losing their souls, sanity or savings. I teach activists, especially women, how to become “passion-driven leaders” in their communities, and believe that personal relationships still matter in this age of computers and new media.
Last year, I had the privilege of training a group of potential women candidates from Morocco, Algeria and Jordan in Istanbul, and then spent several months mentoring the women from Jordan. One of my mentees, Reem Quasem, was the top woman vote-getter in Jordan, and now serves in Parliament. Another of my mentees continued her political journey by attending an International School of Fundraising in England this past spring where I taught 100 participants from 30 different countries how to raise money for their campaigns.
I’ve worked to train people, especially women, in campaign planning, fundraising, volunteer recruitment and many other topics all around the world, and understand how to alter what we do in American politics to fit the special needs of your country. I can answer most any questions you have about campaigns – and if I don’t know the answer, chances are I will know someone who does.
I began my professional career on Capitol Hill in the office of U.S. Congressman Newt Gingrich, who went on to become Speaker of the House of Representatives. I’ve run a state political party, served as the Chief-of-Staff to a Member of Congress, managed political campaigns, worked on a U.S. Presidential campaign and have raised millions of dollars for many successful candidates. I teach fundraising at George Washington University’s Graduate School of Politics, one of our educational partners at Center for Liberty in the Middle East, and chair the Curriculum Committee of the Women’s Campaign School at Yale University, where I’ve served on the Board of Directors for the past six years.
I’ve been called a “democracy coach” – and I want to inspire, motivate and encourage you to become a “passion-driver leader” who can affect change in her community. I look forward to working towards your personal success.
Again, I’m Nancy Bocskor, and I’m looking forward to helping you achieve your goals.
