Partner with a Mentor

The Online Activism Institute offers you a unique chance to work with an expert who will give you personalized guidance on the best way to achieve your activism goals.  After you participate in one of our workshops, you can apply to work one-on-one with a mentor to build on what you’ve learned.

Mentorships last four to eight weeks, and each week you will meet with your mentor online.  Using web-conferencing software, you will be able to speak to your mentor in “real time” as you get to know each other and discuss the topic of your course.  In between your sessions, you will work on your weekly assignments and receive direct feedback from your mentor.

If you don’t speak English but work with an English-only-speaking mentor, a regional “co-mentor” who speaks both English and Arabic will work with you both to provide translation so you can understand each other.  Your co-mentor will also help fit the course content to the socio-political context of your country.

If you are interested in working with a mentor, please be aware that you must first participate in one of our local “Create Your Activism Plan” workshops.  Our next round of workshops is scheduled to take place in June in Egypt and Jordan. If you are interested in participating in either the workshops or the mentorship, please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. In addition, those participants who seek advocacy and campaign advice that may not be covered here can work with their regional partner (the Egyptian Center for Development and Democratic Studies, or Interaction Forum) to determine which of our mentors can best meet their specific needs and objectives.
