Dalia Hamed
Trainer and Co-Mentor
In her work with the Online Activism Institute, Dalia conducts in-country training sessions in Egypt, in addition to serving as a co-mentor, providing translation and cultural context during online mentoring sessions. Dalia is a communications and media professional and trainer, with extensive background in internal and external communications, advocacy, media relations, strategic communications, public relations and public affairs.
She is currently a communications manager at Orange Business Services, as well as an intercultural exchange program trainer for the Canadian International Development Agency. She holds an MA in political communications from the University of Northern Iowa and a BA in political science from the American University in Cairo.
Having been exposed to various cultures and different working environments, including corporate and development work, Dalia has had hands-on experience in various communications forums ranging from mass media to journalism and CSR, and is now working as a consultant and trainer throughout the entire Middle East region.
While being results-oriented, Dalia believes that networking and establishing a relationship of trust and mutual respect with counterparts - whether customers, media representatives, or co-workers - is key in meeting objectives and goals.
