Adel conducts Activism Planning training and mentoring with the Online Activism Institute. He also does training for the Egyptian Association for Support of Democratic Development, and is a writer and political analyst for a number of newspapers and magazines including Al Hayat, Rose al Yousef, Al Wafd, and Al Bedaya.

He researches issues related to citizenship, democracy, secularism, and liberalism, and has published articles on the history of the national movement and creation of the national state in Egypt, the struggle of sectarianism, and the spread of democratic awareness. He is particularly interested in developing education and serves as the editor of the magazine Rawdat al Madaris, which focuses on education issues.

He has published two books with the Egyptian Association for Support of Democratic Development: A Guide to Running Election Campaigns, and A Guide to Preparing Election Campaigns. He is the secretary of the Wafd party in Sharqiya and supervisor of its youth division, and is the official spokesman for the Wafdist Scholars.
