What's New

The OAI has been named as one of the 2009 winners of PoliticsOnline's "Top Ten Who Are Changing the World of Politics Online." Director Eleana Gordon represented the OAI at the World E-Democracy Forum in Paris from October 22-23.

 

The Online Activism Institute honored 90 women who have participated in our pilot programs this year at our inaugural graduation ceremonies in late September in Egypt and Jordan. Congratulations to our graduates!

Take the George Washington University Leadership Course

Selected participants have the unique opportunity to attend an online course and earn a certificate from George Washington  University’s Graduate School of Political Management, one of the leading academic programs in the United States on politics and government.  The Political Leadership curriculum is adapted from the course that is taught to all Masters-level  students in the Graduate School of Political Management.

Success Stories

The Institute’s participants are journalists, civil society leaders, lawyers, teachers and students who share a passion to improve their communities. Khalida's goal is to create more economic opportunities for women in Jordan.  Enaam is a council member from Egypt working to bring clean water to her community.  These are just two of the enterprising women who came to the Institute with their dreams, and left with concrete roadmaps to achieve them. View their testimonials about the Institute and video interviews about their activities.
